  1. Just Saying Hello

    March 26, 2011 by admin

Hello Crafty Friends, and Happy Saturday.  The kids and I are spending a few relaxing days over on the Oregon Coast…so nice to just sit back and not have to worry about too much for a few days.  Of course, that means when I get home I will seriously have to kick my rear into gear…but alas, for now I am enjoying a little “me time”.

Today’s card is one that we will be making at this coming Friday’s, Craftastic Night.  Will you be joining me?  I loved how these colors came together.  I used Sage, Cherry and Onyx…and just love it!  I think the bit of Onyx here and there really makes the image pop!  And, can I just say that I love the Poppy image from A Muse Studio’s “Friend to Friend” stamp set?  This was one of my fave woodmounted images from A Muse, and I am so glad that it made it to the catalog! Another great thing about the “Friend to Friend” stamp set, is all the fabulous sentiments.  I really think A Muse Studio does a fantastic job providing tons of sentiments for all of those occasions.

I stamped the background fronds, using Sage Ink, and then stamped the Poppy image with Memento Tuxedo Black.  I then colored the Poppy in using my Lipstick Red and Garnet Copic Markers.  Adding the Onyx Pretty Pearls to the Poppy center really made it pop.  I finished the clean card off with the sweet “just saying hello” sentiment, some Onyx Gingham paper wrapped with Toffee Twine and topped with a sweet Grass Button.

Well, I hope this encourages you to get out there and do a little stamping today. Thanks so much for popping by and happy crafting!

  2. Tuesday Trigger – A Citrus Celebration

    March 22, 2011 by admin

Hello Crafty Friends!  Today I bring you a sweet little love note inspired by this weeks Tuesday Trigger – A Citrus Celebration over on the Moxie Fab blog.  I made a similar card yesterday, using this sweet little polka dot heart from a•muse|studio ‘s “Hearts A Plenty” set paired with the I Love You sentiment from “Hand Scripted”, and knew that it would work great for today’s trigger!

I am totally loving this citrusy color combo! It just makes me think of summer, which I am TOTALLY looking forward to…this girl needs some sunshine and warmth as we have been VERY damp over here in the mighty Pacific Northwest!

For my card I originally just had the two strips of Orange and Papaya Cardstock, but decided it needed a bit more, so I added the super groovy dots from a•muse|studio‘s “Polka Dot Patterns” set to the background.  It  really added the final touch for my design.

Well hope you enjoy today’s bit of summery crafty goodness!  I have been stamping a ton lately, preparing some fabulous cards and projects for upcoming classes and craftastic nights…would you like to join me?  Then send me note at rhiannon@ringslikeabell.com

Here are the supply deets for you (everything is from a•muse|studio … let me know if you need the hook-up):

    • Stamp Sets – Polka Dot Patterns, Hearts A Plenty and Hand Scripted
    • Paper – Lime, Papaya, Orange and Sugar
    • Ink – Lime Pigment Ink, Memento Tuxedo Black

  3. St. Patrick’s Day Treat

    March 10, 2011 by rhi

Hello and good day, my crafty friends!

As promised, here is the super cute chocolate bar cover we made last Friday at my a•muse|studio Craftastic Night!  I thought I would include instructions for today’s project, as I know many of you will want to make these sweet treats for the upcoming Holiday! So, without further ado…

    1. Adhere the Scalloped Sugar Half Circle (I used the Blue Marvy Scallop Circle Punch) on the top of the large middle panel of the 5 ½” x 6” piece of Grass Cardstock.
    2. Using a Punched Circle (I used the Yellow Marvy Circle Punch, and put a dab of Repositionable Adhesive on the back, so I could perfectly place my punch on the Scalloped Half Circle), place it on the Half Scallop Circle as a guide, and punch, leaving a half circle, refer to sample if needed.
    3. On the bottom of the large middle panel, stamp Happy St. Patrick’s Day from the a•muse|studioEssential Sentiments Stamp Set, using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
    4. Wrap the 1 ¼” x 6” piece of Onyx Cardstock around the wrapped chocolate bar, and secure with Sticky Tape.
    5. Adhere the 1 ¼” Papaya Square to the 1 ¾” Onyx Square.
    6. Adhere the matted Papaya/Onyx Squares to the Onyx Band, making a belt.

So, there you have it…easy peasy!  I hope you enjoy this little bit of festive fun.  Please feel free to contact me if you need further clarification OR if you want more info on a•muse|studio!!  I would love to answer any questions you may have, so email me rhiannon@ringslikeabell,com!!  I look forward to sharing more a•muse|studio goodies with you in the very near future!!  Happy Crafting!!

  5. Espressoly for you

    March 2, 2011 by admin

Hello my crafty friends!  Today’s post is “espressoly for you”!  This card uses some of the FABULOUS new products from  a•muse|studio…how about that GORGEOUS 5/8″ Orange Satin Ribbon, it is SO beautiful to work with…love LOVE love it!!

This card was super easy to put together, and I love the fact that it is not only a gift card holder, but you can also write a little note inside the actual card.  Great for someone’s birthday…or just because!

I decided to spice up the To-go Cup image, from a•muse|studio’s“The Perfect Blend” set, by paper piecing with some fabulous French Roast Polka Dot Paper and Vanilla Paper.  Can I just say that I {heart}  a•muse|studio Cardstock!!  If you have never worked with it before, you must try it!  We use Soy Based Ink, making this paper not only gorgeous, but environmentally friendly!  All of the a•muse|studio’s Cardstock is “white core” meaning that you get beautiful colors and patterns on one side, and fabulous sugar or vanilla on the opposite.  This is so fantastic when you are using a dark colored card base, like Onyx or Slate, ’cause you don’t have to prep the inside for writing!

This will be one of you the four creations that peeps attending my a•muse|studio Craftastic Night this Friday will get to make!  Can’t make it to Craftastic Night, but still want to see what a•muse|studio is all about?  Please email me at rhiannon@ringslikeabell.com , so I can set up a time to get together with you and show you everything this FABULOUS company has to offer you!!  Want to keep up with me and my a•muse|studio adventure?  Find me on Facebook here!!  Looking forward to sharing loads more a•muse|studio love with you!!  Hold onto your hats, it is going to be a super awesome ride!!

  7. Happy Fall

    September 20, 2010 by rhi

Hello my crafty friends!  I decided to take part in this weeks Clean & Simple Challenge #85 over on Splitcoaststampers today.  It has been F O R E V E R since I last partook in a challenge, and I thought this would be a great way to get my blogging butt in gear!  That being said, todays challenge was to use Red, Kraft, Vanilla and Brown…and of course, to keep it Clean & Simple.  I think I kept right on track.

I decided to use the fantastic “Birch Forest w/ Leaves” image from A*Muse as my focal image.  I inked it up with Memento Inks in: Rich Cocoa, Bamboo Leaves and Potter’s Clay.  I also used the super cute “Happy Fall” sentiment.  All in all a very simple layout with some fun SU! Linen Thread and a little red button to finish things off.

I have to say, that after taking a challenge hiatus, I really had a great time putting this card together.  It just made my juices flow.  Hoping this mojo will stick around for awhile…it was greatly missed.  Happy stamping my friends…and happy fall!

    “Happy Fall” Details:

    • Stamps – A*Muse: 6-4189L Birch Forest w/ Leaves, 8-8362B Happy Fall
    • Paper – A*Muse: Kraft, Swiss Red & French Roast, SU! Very Vanilla
    • Ink –   Memento: Potter’s Clay, Bamboo Leaves & Rich Cocoa, Versa Magic Jumbo Java
    • Embellishments – SU! Linen Thread, Red Button

  9. Cool School Mini Album…at least that’s what I think

    September 2, 2010 by rhi

good morning my crafty friends…i know don’t pass out or anything…not saying this is going to be a regular occurrence, but yes, I have blogged two whole days in a row.

so today’s bit of crafty goodness is some shameless promoting for an upcoming class that i will be teaching at the A*Muse Retail Shop on Saturday, September 11th @ 4:00 PM…you can register here!   this class will teach you everything you need to know to re-create this fun little mini album.  the greatest thing though, is that you will be able to take your knowledge home and then make many many more for all those hard to buy for people on your upcoming holiday list…i know…i said it…don’t hate me…but yes, Christmas is exactly 114 days away, and it is NEVER too early to start preparing.

this album is a great way to capture those “first day of school” snapshots…with plenty of room for fun journaling too!  we will be using several fun School Themed Stamps, along with Copics and Punches to create this little tid-bit of handmade love.  hope you can join me!!

  10. gettin’ crafty

    September 1, 2010 by rhi

well, september is here, and i have had the desire to actually get crafty the past few days. one of my friends celebrated a birthday the other day, so i decided to make her a super sweet sewing journal…and didn’t take pictures….i know…a travesty i tell ya!  after making said journal though, i wanted to make a few more as gifties for those near and dear to me.

for those that know me, i am a hoarder when it comes to crafty goodness.  i have way too much stuff…to the point of being overwhelming at times.  this being said, i decided to dive in and start putting it to good use!  these journals are a great way to showcase all of the fantabulous treasures i have been picking up over the past couple of years.

for this journal in particular, i decided to pull out some of the wonderful October Afternoon goodies that i have tucked away. i used various papers, rub-ons and cut-outs, from the Cherry Hill Collection.  my goal was to create a girly girl journal for my sweet friend who is in over her head in testosterone day in and day out.  she has been blessed with four bouncing boys, and well…i thought she could use some pretty to brighten her day.  with the help of some Basic Grey Bling, some beautiful coordinating ribbons, sweet Doodlebug buttons and  super fun October Afternoon Wild Cards, i was able to make something super girly, yet surprisingly functional.

between the two book board covers are three pocket dividers, the covers have been prettied with more ribbon, bling, buttons and some super sweet Embellished Butterflies from Jenni Bowlin Studios.  i used more Cherry Hill papers as well as some paper from the October Afternoon Ducks in a Row Collection and the Cosmo Cricket Material Girl Collection.

for the backs of the dividers, where the pockets are, i prettied them up with some more crafty goodness.   Cherry Hill Journal Cards, Rub-ons and Shapes were all used with more pretty papers from the Cherry Hill  and Ducks in a Row Collections.

to make the dividers i simply took an 8×11 piece of cardstock, scored on the long side at 8″ and folded up to make a 3″ deep pocket.  between all the pretty layers i simply placed your basic printer paper that i had cut down to 7 3/4×8.  loads of pages for lists, thoughts and what-nots.

to finish off the cuteness, i used my Crop-A-Dile to punch holes through everything…and then placed 2″ Book Rings through the holes.  finally I added loads of cute ribbon from my stash…and you know i have a stash and half of this stuff…to the rings.

i have to say i am pretty proud of myself…instead of drooling over the goodness as it sits neatly in its place, i jumped in…head first…and created something that i know will be appreciated and bring a bit of sunshine.  thanks for popping by…i’ll try to not make you wait so long the next time.
